Here are five takeaways from Sunday’s win over the Eagles.
1. Another home game, another fast start
Fast start and a strong finish. That’s what the Vikings offense did on Sunday. In their first two home games of the season against Atlanta and Oakland, the Vikings jumped out to 21-0 leads. On Sunday against the Eagles, the Vikings did it again, jumping out to a 24-3 lead by the early stages of the 2nd quarter. The Eagles were able to storm back and get to within four points early in the 3rd quarter, but that surged was halted right there as the Vikings defense settled down and the offense tacked on a pair of second-half touchdowns. An eight-play, 88-yard touchdown drive early in the 4th quarter all but sealed this win for the Vikings, as the offense displayed the ability to methodically drive down the field (four touchdown drives of 70+ yards) as well as explode and score quickly (one-play, 51-yard touchdown drive).
