2. Jets and a journey

The New York Jets selected Nickerson in the sixth round (179th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.

He appeared in all 16 games of his rookie season, making two starts that included a game against the Vikings in Week 7. Nickerson recorded seven tackles and one for a loss on 53 defensive snaps against Minnesota.

New York traded Nickerson to Seattle in 2019, and after a short stint on the Seahawks practice squad, Nickerson landed in Jacksonville. He played in four games with the Jaguars late in 2019 and joined the Packers in 2020. Nickerson was inactive during Week 1 when Green Bay visited Minnesota. His only game action for Green Bay occurred at Tampa Bay, playing two snaps on special teams before suffering a season-ending hamstring injury.

3. In the passing lanes at Tulane

Nickerson played in one game as a true freshman at Tulane in 2013 before suffering an injury that led to a medical redshirt.

He returned and played 48 games (and 46 starts) for the Green Wave, totaling 188 tackles (152 solo), 8.0 TFL, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, 16 interceptions and 31 pass breakups.

Nickerson's interceptions rank second in Tulane history, and his PBUs are third all-time.

He was selected to the All-AAC First Team by the conference's coaches in 2017 when he totaled six interceptions, including one in each of his final three college games.
