The Bears on Monday signed tight end Darion Clark, a former college basketball player, to a reserve/future contract.
The 6-7, 220-pounder played basketball at Charlotte (2012-13) and then sat out one year after transferring to USC, where he averaged 4.3 points while appearing in 58 games with 16 starts over two seasons from 2014-16.
Clark continued his college basketball career as a graduate student at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix in 2016-17, averaging 7.8 points while appearing in 20 games with 17 starts.
Clark last played football at Rockdale County High School, which is located in Conyers, Ga. He participated in USC’s Pro Day in March 2018, however, catching passes from quarterback Sam Darnold.
