ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Quarterback Brett Rypien has rejoined the Broncos after signing to the team's practice squad on Monday.

Rypien, a rookie out of Boise State, was waived Saturday to make room for Drew Lock to rejoin the active roster. He served as the Broncos' backup quarterback against the Browns, Vikings and Bills, but he did not take a snap.

Before being activated to the roster ahead of Denver's Week 9 game against Cleveland, Rypien spent the first eight weeks of the season on Denver's practice squad.

Rypien completed 27-of-44 passes for 207 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the preseason.
