— It's a back-and-forth quarter of action, but the Colts make a couple key mistakes. Indy forced Cincinnati into a second straight punt to open up its possessions, but Penny Hart muffs the return, which is recovered by the Bengals at the Indianapolis 31-yard line. The Colts are bailed out four plays later, however, when linebacker Zaire Franklin stuffs running back Rodney Anderson for a loss of two on 4th and 2 from the Indy 23. The Colts looked to have something going on the ensuing drive, but on the eighth play from the Cincinnati 35-yard line, quarterback Chad Kelly — making his second straight start to wrap up the preseason — is picked off by Bengals cornerback Darius Phillips at the Bengals' 5-yard line. Kelly was trying to find rookie wide receiver Parris Campbell — who is making his preseason debut after dealing with a hamstring injury the last few weeks — on the go route down the right sideline, but the pass attempt was underthrown.

— At the end of the first quarter, the Colts and Bengals are scoreless.
