EAGAN, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings (5-2) will host the Washington Redskins (1-6) at 7:20 p.m. (CT) Thursday, Oct. 24, at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Minnesota will close out its first half of the regular season with a unique look. The Vikings will sport #PrimetimePurple uniforms, wearing a combination of purple jerseys and purple pants for just the sixth time in franchise history.
Series standings: The game will be the 27th meeting between the franchises in the regular season or postseason. The Vikings are 11-10 in the regular season and 2-3 in playoff games.
A special night: Fans will be able to celebrate the induction of Steve Jordan into the Vikings Ring of Honor during a halftime ceremony. Jordan is the 25th member of the honorary group and first tight end. He recorded his single-game career high receiving yards (179) against Washington in 1986.
Reunion tour: In case you haven’t heard, the game will feature both quarterbacks facing their former teams. Minnesota QB Kirk Cousins, who is on quite a hot streak the past three weeks, will face the team that drafted him in 2012 for the first time. Washington QB Case Keenum will play at U.S. Bank Stadium for the first time since Jan. 14, 2018, when he completed a 61-yard walkoff touchdown to Stefon Diggs, a magical moment that was instantly dubbed the “Minneapolis Miracle.” Adding to the intrigue will be the return of running back Adrian Peterson, who starred for the Vikings from 2007-16.
