GREEN BAY – After a fruitless third quarter, the Packers needed to get their offensive mojo back in the fourth quarter.
They did with a methodical 12-play, 76-yard scoring march that consumed seven minutes, 35 seconds on the clock and is the Chevy Drive of the Week from the 35-16 victory at Chicago.
Right after the defense stopped the Bears on fourth-and-1 just outside the red zone, the Packers took over on their own 24-yard line, leading 21-16 and needing to re-establish a two-score lead.
Having scored three touchdowns on three possessions in the first half, Green Bay had come up empty on two second-half drives and hadn't been able to separate from the Bears.
They started to by getting WR Davante Adams back involved, and he caught back-to-back passes for 6 and 7 yards, first tying and then breaking Sterling Sharpe's single-season franchise record of 112 receptions.
Three plays later, QB Aaron Rodgers went to Adams again to convert on third-and-7, hitting him for a 9-yard gain to get the ball near midfield.
RB Aaron Jones had runs of 8 and 4 yards sandwiched around a short reception by WR Allen Lazard, and then a swing pass into the flat for Jones ruptured into a 17-yard gain, in part thanks to a key block by TE Dominique Dafney.
That gave the Packers a first down in the red zone, at the Chicago 19. After a 1-yard run by RB Jamaal Williams, Lazard got free on a shallow crossing route for 14 to make it first-and-goal on the 4. Jones then finished it off with a TD run for his ninth rushing score of the season.
With just 3:47 to play, the Packers had some cushion and the game was never in doubt again.
