The Packers actually ended up covering 80 yards on the possession after the sack, and the key play to get them going came two snaps later. Facing third-and-14 from the 7, Rodgers dropped back and fired down the sideline to RB Aaron Jones, fitting the ball in nicely between the cornerback and safety. Jones made the catch for a 25-yard gain while tumbling onto his back.
Jones converted another third down with a 5-yard run out of a shotgun formation on third-and-3. Two snaps later, Rodgers found WR Geronimo Allison along the sideline. Allison thought he shook a tackler, got up running, and then had the ball punched out from behind by Washington CB Fabian Moreau, with the defense recovering.
Fortunately for the Packers, replay showed Allison was down by contact on his initial juke move, limiting the reception to 11 yards and a first down at the Washington 41-yard line. The Packers kept the ball.
Then it was back to Jones, who ripped off runs of 12 and five yards before fellow RB Jamaal Williams ran twice for four yards, leaving the Packers with fourth-and-1 from the Washington 15 as the visitors burned their last timeout.
K Mason Crosby came on to drill the 33-yard field goal, putting the Packers back ahead by two scores at 20-9 with just 2:34 left.
