The Green Bay Packers have claimed RB Tyler Ervin off of waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Tuesday.
Ervin, a 5-foot-10, 192-pound fourth-year player out of San Jose State, was originally selected by the Houston Texans in the fourth round (No. 119 overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. He has played in 31 regular-season games and two postseason contests for the Texans (2016-18) and Jaguars (2019) while also spending time on the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad (2018). For his career, Ervin has averaged 8.3 yards on 61 punt returns with a long of 57 yards and 21.1 yards on 34 kickoff returns with a long of 36 yards. He registered 115 rushing yards on five carries (3.0 avg.) and 91 receiving yards on 14 receptions (6.5 avg.). Ervin will wear No. 32 for the Packers.
