CHARLOTTE – Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who left Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers with a knee injury, wore a red, injured-player jersey at Wednesday's practice.
Bridgewater did some light work on the side with an athletic trainer during the portion of practice open to the media. Bridgewater's status for this week's game against the Lions is unclear. If he doesn't play, the starting nod will go to P.J. Walker or Will Grier.
Players not at practice during Wednesday's open portion were running back Christian McCaffrey, left tackle Russell Okung, right guard John Miller, linebacker Tahir Whitehead and cornerback Donte Jackson.
McCaffrey, who sat out Sunday with a shoulder injury, is not expected to face the Lions. Okung has missed three straight games with a calf injury. Miller, Whitehead and Jackson were all dinged up Sunday.
Tight end Chris Manhertz, safety Sam Franklin and defensive ends Yetur Gross-Matos and Marquis Haynes were all in green, non-contact jerseys on Wednesday.
