The San Francisco 49ers are on their way to Miami to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV. San Francisco defeated the Green Bay Packers, 37-20, during Sunday's NFC Championship to earn their first trip to the Super Bowl since the 2013 season. Meanwhile, the Chiefs will make their first Super Bowl appearance in 50 years.
The 49ers saw a repeat of their Week 12 matchup against Green Bay, holding the Packers scoreless in the first half. Undrafted running back Raheem Mostert was the highlight of the night, putting up a career-high 220 yards on 19 carries to go along with four (yes, four) touchdowns. Mostert became the only player in NFL history with 150-plus rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in a single half of a playoff game. Mostert is the first player with three-plus rushing touchdowns in a playoff game since LeGarrette Blount did so for the New England Patriots in the 2013 Divisional Round against the Indianapolis Colts. Mostert is also the first player in NFL history to score four rushing touchdowns in a Conference Championship game.
Meanwhile in the AFC, the Chiefs witnessed "Mahomes Magic" as quarterback Patrick Mahomes ripped off a 27-yard scramble up the edge of the sideline for a touchdown. The quarterback completed 23-of-35 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns to go along with his rushing score.
Super Bowl LIV is set for Sunday, Feb. 2 at Hard Rock Stadium as San Francisco continues its "Quest for Six."
