EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings were among the league's busiest teams in the 2020 NFL Draft, ending up with a seven-round record of 15 players.
The Vikings received high marks for their work, including an A- from ESPN's Mel Kiper, Jr., but what were their biggest rivals up to?
Here's a quick rundown of what the three other NFC North teams did in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Chicago Bears
Number of picks: Seven
Kiper's grade: C+
Draft recap: The Bears had to wait a while to pick, as they didn't have a selection until the second round due to their trade for Khalil Mack back in 2018. Chicago went with Notre Dame's Cole Kmet with the 43rd pick, making him the first tight end taken, and the 10th player at that position on Chicago's roster. The Bears, who are now down to nine tight ends, split their final six picks evenly on offense and defense.
Player to watch: CB Jaylon Johnson, Utah
Chicago landed Johnson with the 50th overall pick, which would be viewed as great value considering he was projected by some to be a first-rounder leading up to the draft, including as a possibility for the Vikings at Nos. 22 or 25. Johnson earned First-Team All-Pac-12 honors and was named a Second-Team All-American by the Associated Press in 2019 as a junior at Utah.
