Agents of Chaos: The Bears rank among the league’s best in disruptive plays. The defense leads the league in forcing negative yardage. The team is also tied for first in red-zone takeaways and third in points off turnovers and fifth in sacks. The defense popped the bubble of Washington quarterback Case Keenum’s efficient season to date, forcing him to turn the ball over five times over the course of the game.
Keeping a lid on it: Apart from the big plays they make, the defense has been expert at stuffing any heroics from the opposing offense. The Bears are tied for first with fewest runs of 20 yards or more allowed with none. The team ranks third in third-down percentage and points allowed. Both standings will be tested against the Minnesota Vikings and the NFL’s leading rusher, Dalvin Cook.
Dream vacation: The Bears extended a four-game road winning streak, their longest since 2015. The streak started last season with a win in San Francisco on Dec. 23. The Bears will play their next road game in two weeks across the Atlantic Ocean in London. The Bears won their last game across the pond in 2011, so it will be interesting to see if the streak can hold.
